The Anna's hummingbirds stay the year round here. Sometimes, like this year, we get a bit of snow. [ATTACH]
This one is the size of a hummer. Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Male [ATTACH]
It is a Northern Flicker, used to be called the Red-shafted flicker. This is the female.
Not used to having very much snow so I have to take the opportunities that have come with this stuff. You can see the snow still coming down....
Looks really great but I'm glad its not here. We have had a about 1/2 inch which is all we need. Its just about gone now

There is always something to see down at the lagoon and today it was a Red breasted merganser male, all alone. He has a neat hairdo. [ATTACH]
We also have them the year round. They are of course non native to America and have spread throughout the world faster than any other animal.
