    I know just how patient you can be Kildale to get the perfect shot but that's taking it a step too far. :p

    We start with Black Oystercatchers. These birds for some reason make me think of the wild. Great to get four together.

    Those yellow eyes and red bills stand out so well against the black feathers.

    The black and white oystercatcher we've got is a harbinger of spring. I'm so looking forward to seeing them again.

    Lovely shot of the coot. We're seeing them quite often up at the farm ponds.

    Stunning plumage. I hope it never misjudges it's landing though with those spines.

    Apart from the fact that you got it on a cactus in the photo Kildale, is there any special reason why it has cactus in its name?

    Hi Frank, I think that is because it nests in cactus plants.
