    Hello all,

Here are 2 pictures of a little moth photographied on the wall of my house at Sherbrooke, Quebec (near Vermont USA) last September 2008. It looks like he has a golden sheet over its body ;-)

I think it is a Noctuidae from the genus Papaipema but I'm not sure...

    Any idea about its identification?

Thank you very much for your help :)

It looks like Papaipema Appassionata to me Michel. Some of these moths can be found in parts of England as well as in Canada and the USA.

    Hello Eileen,

Finally, I identified it correctly. It is Papaipema cataphracta (the Burdock Borer).

Thank you very much for your help :)

    Cheers,

    Michel
