Spiders may be good in the house to get rid of the flies etc. but in the garden they catch bees and other good guys. I have images of this. This spider however lives solely on those little pill bugs and roly poly's

I agree, more people hate them than love them. I was just reading where a guy has donated $45.000 to a group wanting to publish a guide to NA spiders. A guy is doing the drawings for $50.000 so they are seeking the extra 5,000. Like me, I don't suppose you are interested?

As I said, some are good but others? I wasn't going to show these but you are interested in spiders.

My daughter is deathly afraid of them and I did not teach her to be afraid of them as I've always loved them from a very small child.

Like Petunia, spiders make my blood run cold :sete_079: Having said that, you have some very unusual ones. Brilliant photos.

I may not like the fact that some spiders eat bees but I can't help admiring them. There are so many different kinds and they come in all shapes and sizes and are such proficient hunters. Your last two are a great example of how they can camourflage themselves and become almost invisible to the naked eye.

The beauty of nature never ceases to amaze me.
Meanwhile, I recall my grandmother used to say a spider in the house was good luck... any one else heard of that? I am realizing she said that about a lot of things!

I'm happy to have them eating my insects, but a Recluse (common in the South) once caused an inch deep hole in my daughter's leg. They have good and bad attributes, I guess.

Its OK, I like it actually. An easy mistake when people don't know about Kildale and they know Kildare.
