Not, this is the fan grate I planted. I used the stand and the grate, I saved the blades for a future project. The only thing I threw away was the motor. I love recycling junk. A close up of some of the sedums:
That is a beautiful container garden. What do you have it propped up on? The Sedums are gorgeous. Ain't junkin' grand? :-D
I drove a pipe in the ground placed the stand upside down on the pipe, lashed the grate to the four arms of the stand with zip strips and used one zip strip to lash the grate to the fence pole in the back for stability. Then I lined it with sphagnum moss and cacti soil and planted.
What a great job you've done Sharon - who'd believe it was once a piece of junk?!! The sedums look as though they were meant to be there. :-D
The sedums ARE gorgeous! The one looks like tiny rosebuds! What type is it? I'd have never guessed that was once a piece of "junk". Very clever!
My DH said the same thing about the sedum, it is Stonecrop "Tricolor". I love that one too. I am looking for some shiny silver orbs to add to it, just have to find the right size. Thanks for the compliments all.
Awesome Possum :-D I wanted to do something similar with Mom & Dad's big old obsolete satellite dish but the neighbor got off with it before I did. Guess she had her own idea Deanna :-D
Looks great (grate?) Sharon. You didn't happen to take a photo of the fan grate before the planting for comparison's sake?
Very good idea on the fan grate! The tri color sedum is beautiful. Its such a tough plant, but it looks so delicate.
