We have been doing a lot of work the past few weeks, one of the things was to harvest and process the last of our apples.

They were loaded into a trug in the pic up above to be carried home.
A few days later, it was time to process them. Look at this lot all spread out on the kitchen counter.

    We were making applesauce there.

Then today we processed paprikas and parsnips. We still have the last trugfull of apples that we. Harvested a few days ago. We will sauce them in a few days.

I had set a few aside with some overripe bananas to ripen a bit further and after the processing, we treated ourselves to a couple of apple turnovers which we quickly threw together. Mmmmmmm, mmmmmmmm, mmm !

Addendum: The red apple. It was the one an only Schellinkhouter apple that we got this year, but it was not to escape the sauce pot.

You have had a buzy last few weeks. Harvesting and processing a lot of fruits and veggies. It’s always a joy to see your pics of the different techniques and the process once completed after harvest. From spring planting to harvest, to processing and lastly to your table. Great job and happy eating all the goddies from your gardens.
Celebrating your hard work and all the many gifts from your beautiful gardens. :smt023:smt038:sete_013:

I think that was about the same time I was doing applesauce. I made mine in the crock pot so I could do other things while they cooked. I made extra so I could make a pie that my mom made, when I was young. She was always thinking up recipes.

Yum! It wasn't a good apple year here so I'm glad someone got good apples.
Thankfully we made lots of applesauce last season :)

Willow— that sounds yum. I make a lot of applesauce every year too.

Netty— cheers mate. The apple harvest wasn’t as good as usual, but it wasn’t a total bust.
