The extra blueberries have been in suspended animation in the freezer since we ran out of jars for our jam. We removed two cups from the frozen hoarding. Now then, what's going on here? Well we decided to try making some blueberry sauce. Well, we measured up two cups of frozen blueberries. Then I splooked in the OJ, poured in the sugar along with a bit of water and chucked it onto the flames. We brought this up to a boil, and after a while the berries began to rupture and soften-up. Then it was time for the staff mixer. Then the potato starch. Right at the end we added the almond extract and a pinch of salt. Finally, we potted-up our trial batch. Now to try it out.....
Oh, it does, Eileen. We had some tonight on our pud. Semolina pudding. I had to look the english for that one up.
Tapioca - now that brings back some memories. My big sister told me, when I was little, that it was actually frog spawn. Guess what I did? Yes - put it in water and waited for the tadpoles to emerge. My sister thought it was hysterical - my mum not so much as it smelt really bad after a few days. .
That's funny @eileen but it did look like it and it didn't taste of anything had to put jam on it.. Did it put you off eating it in the future?
Wow—you guys have a whole history wIth that stuff. I really like it and normally we eat it with red current sauce. I think that I have a simple palate.
Yuk! We had to eat frog spawn (without tadpoles) every week at infant school. Quite a lot of it got slipped onto the floor under the table in the canteen. We were told we couldn't go out to play until our dishes were empty...... needs must! ...
Well T, I have heard about the semolina pilchard dripping from a dead dog’s eye over there. So I can quite understand why it might put you right off it. Thanks Droopy. I have problems eating yoghurt without a dash of sugar or fruit jam.
Mart, I think that it would go well with pancakes too. Oh yeah, pancakes with bb sauce. I can imagine that.
