Here is the deal. I picked this coral bell up a IMG_20170913_140125.jpg at an end of the year sale for 1/2 price.
I pull off all the dead leaves (& a live one too!), knocked it out of the pot & went at it with my trusty bread knife (hubby won't be happy about that!)

So here is my question: have I killed it by cutting through its core like that? What do I do now? IMG_20170913_142057.jpg IMG_20170913_142134.jpg

Okay, in for a penny, in for a pound: IMG_20170913_143659.jpg

I really really hope I haven't killed this thing.

I wouldn't think that you have done any harm, each section has roots and part of the original bulb?or whatever it is called so they each have a good chance of recovering and growing to be split again in a few years.
Since it is already done, get them in dirt and either in a warm place for winter or like down here stick them in the ground, they will return next Spring.

Well done Cayuga Morning,..you should now have the beginning of four new Heuchera Plants,..just ensure all of the cut off section is below the soil and there should be no problem.

Are you going to plant in containers,.. or direct into the soil?,..its just for the future to remember some Heuchera have a tendency to push themselves up out of the soil when in containers,..then die of,..its hard to spot this as the foliage is so dense.

The five cuttings i took are well established now and showing new leaf,..mine were taken from a smaller parent plant than yours :),..you did well with that plant,..half price :smt023

    My wee cuttings.

They all look nice. Your plants will love you for giving them more room to grow.
