My Amaryllis plant has finished blooming, I cut the stem off and the leaves are very tall, got a question, some of the leaves are starting to wilt and turn brown, is that normal? If so, do I cut them off at the neck? I would like to let the flower bloom whenever it wants to, but I am concerned about those leaves. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Perfectly normal, part of it's life cycle :D I think you are supposed to leave the leaves 'cause they feed the big old bulb :p

Always leave the leaves on a bulb plant until they are completely brown and ready to fall off on their own. The leaves take in sunlight to feed the bulb so there will be blooms next season.

BUT.. why do you have leaves???
Usually an Amaryllis will bloom after a period of rest and dry and cool.
It should (not a rule) go dormant. And blooms before the leaves come out.
Anyway... good you had a bloom!
When I was young, living with parents, we had some bulbs and we didn't know better. Kept them all winter in warm room, watered them and just looked at the leaves. Didn't bloom at all.

It has already bloomed for Christmas and I am keeping it inside until the weather gets warm enough to take it outside for the summer. It is normal what it is doing, it just does not look good when the old leaves die and the new ones have not come on yet.
