I have two Rhizomes for the dark purple Iris, they love it in their new bed too, each stem has 6 buds on it.

Awww, they're gorgeous! Very few of those particular iris will reach their full potential here due to the cold, wet summers we usually have. I am going to try some once I've got the next project rolling though.

Okay, define a hot summer for you two? You might be able to grow the Iris Germanica since your summer is more like our spring temperature wise.

There are Iris species that bloom in different seasons.
These Iris are bloomed out before the heat of summer arrives, they are mid-late spring bloomers.
One of these days I am actually going to order some Iris that bloom in early-mid summer so I can enjoy them longer.

Ehm, you know, toni, your spring blooms are my summer blooms, since your spring temps often are higher than my summer temps. :D We've got I. sibirica, I. reticulata, I. hollandica which do fine, and a couple of the I. germanica, but those aren't very willing here I'm afraid.

That's a beautiful ruffly iris, Toni and the color is amazing.

My iris bloom in Springtime here... They're done by the time it gets very warm... This winter they were covered with feet of snow and still blooming on time. Wouldn't they do for you too, Droopy and Eileen? Mine are just regular old (and I do mean OLD) iris that have been here forever.
