    Hey Everyone,

My wife and I have inherited a garden at our new home and we can't seem to figure out what this plant is. We're not sure if there's anything more to it but we figure there must be. It has been growing rapidly over the past few weeks.

Pinch a leaf and see what it smells like. Looks a bit like cilantro. How big is it ?

It's fairly large - just over a meter high right now. I've taken a different shot to show it. I've also done my best to "circle" the plant in question.

Did you pinch a leaf and see if it had a smell of any kind ? Still looks similar to cilantro.
But since it is in with flowering plants,,maybe not !! Leaves just look similar !!

Could it be a bleeding heart?

Its not bleeding heart,, it is a woody stem plant. Have no clue what monkshood is. Guess I could look it up.

I don`t think its monks hood, leaves look different, but just in case,, don`t pinch the leaves as I asked earlier. Seems like monks hood is deadly toxic.

There is also a plant Apium graveolens secalinum that is called cutting celery. The leaves are used salads, soups, stews. It doesn't grow stalks like regular celery, just the leaves and it grows pretty tall.

Would it have the typical celery smell ? Back to checking the leaves for smell.

I did check the leaves for smell and I would say they don't really give a noticeable smell.
