Yesterday my darling brought me 2 half whiskey barrels for £25. A bargain!! One is destined to become a bog garden by the pond. I was planning to dig an area and line it with pond liner, then back fill. However, one of the plants is a gunnera, and I am hoping that the half barrel will keep it from growing quite so huge. Also I am hoping it will be more of a feature as the patch it is going into is a bit dull in the summer once the spring flowers have all gone. I shall take photos as I go along. :D

Oh, the other one, well it has the distillery logo on the bottom, so I think upturned it will make a rather spiffing table next to my lounger for when I am partaking a wee dram in the garden. :smt030

Your ideas sounds great EJ - can we have piccies when the two half barrels are in situ? I love the idea of a bog garden planter. :-D
