I recently ordered a Black Pepper plant. And to my surprise instead of getting 1 plant I got 2 in the same container! So just a while ago I separated them into their own 2 big containers. This actually inspired me to look up the history of this plant online. I had heard from my family elders that this simple spice which we all today take for granted - Actually has a history which is unlike anything else! So from wars, to mass murders, to deceit, to ransom plus extortion, to lies of all kinds motivated by greed, to thievery, and even adultery (believe it or not), to eventually the conquest of a nation - All just so people could spice things up, (literally).
