Blooming tree

    A native Texas tree called the Retama is blooming in the corner of our barn lot. We planted it shortly after we moved here, and it has survived scorching heat, freezes, wind, and neglect. It isn't a particularly pretty tree, but we like it.

    Unusual leaves this plant has. The blooms look so unusual that they are attractive.

    Thank you, all. Sojerd, the leaves are small and slim because it is a west Texas tree (desert) and the less leaf exposure, the more it can conserve what water is available. Plants are much smarter than many people!:setc_063:
