I have had one for a few years but there has always been something wrong with it. The blooms have always been deformed from bud through bloom. Year before last it sent up two 'sports' from just above the roots, I cut them back last Spring and they returned through the summer....both times they got about 6 feet long. Then late last summer all the leaves died and fell off. If there is no sign of life this spring I will dig it up and throw it away.

I did read online that there is a Blue Girl climbing rose that might have been used for grafting the bush Blue Girl....but I have no idea if that could or did happen. If this one comes back to life I think I will move to to a trellis and let the sports have their way.

The color of the bloom is gorgeous, a medium lavender color. I don't remember if it has a fragrance though. I am hoping mine will come back this Spring and I can move it to a trellis.

I checked it yesterday and there is new growth on all parts of it. Now I need to figure out where to move it to with a trellis.

I had one for awhile. It finally died from rose cane borers.
Anyway, yes it is a gorgeous silvery lavender. I cut a few once and took them into work and put them on the counter in a vase. I had customers telling me they were too beautiful to be real! I seem to remember the fragrance being a light rose. Not strong but not weak. Ive been thinking about planting another one.

I also had one, but it didn't overwinter one year. It did have pretty blooms.
