I found out this is a wild Delphinium, Delphinium nuttallianum Pritz. ex Walp. as that is one that grows in Idaho. It is so pretty, but is poisonous to cattle. Colors can vary from this intense purple blue to pale blue. Thought you all would be interested.

    Your wildflower is Delphinium menziesii/Larkspur.

This wildflower was in eastern Idaho, in the Main Salmon River valley. D. menzeisii is founs more coastal, mostly western Washington and Oregon. D. nuttalianum is more common east of the Cascade Mts. , in eastern Washington, eastern Oregon and Idaho. Why do you think it is menzeisii rather than nuttalianum?
