Since y'all were so kind with your comments about my new kitchen book shelves, I thought you might like to see what my husband did with a narrow closet that was practically unuseable and the door opened into a passageway.

He removed the shelving, took off the door, and made bins for our wines. So much better than a broom closet! :smt030

That's the coolest wine rack I have seen, makes me wish I had a broom closet to convert.
Ah, box wine. I knew you were very down to earth people

My husband loves your new wine storage. However, he'd fill it with bottles of real ale as he doesn't like wine. Now he's eyeing up areas he could fit a unit like that into.

Yea, I am eyeing a corner in my room that would be the perfect size for one.

Wine tastes much better than a broom. Great idea.

Yes Toni, after a box or two of wine, we get really "down to earth!" :setc_075:

That looks great! I think I'll stick with my broom closet though... the thought of having that much space for "bottles" kind of scares me! :D

Brooms? What are brooms, KK? Actually, there was a dead space in the laundry room--just a nook where I can keep my broom and dustpan, and long-handled duster.
Slowly but surely this house is becoming more space-efficient.

I told my husband that many Stewies thought his wine closet was fine. He answered that if anyone wants to build one, all you need is:
    a compressor with nail gun
    nails for nail gun
    table saw
    compound miter saw
    level
    25' tape measure
    yard stick (3' measuring stick)
    3/4" plywood
    1/4" plywood
    paint
brush or spray gun (compressor attachment)
After you purchase all this, and some band-aids, you too will have a fine $1500 wine closet.
(We had the tools since he has been building furniture and re-habbing three houses over the years. I really don't have a grand invested in a wine closet!)
