Just saw on the news where eastern West Virginia, up in the mountains, is to get 2 to 4 inches of snow today.

Thanks for the heads up Captain, the house plants have started their semi-annual pilgrimage to warmer locations. The Thanksgiving Cactus already has flower buds.

Yes...today is the day to get all the houseplants off of the porch...thanks for the reminder. It's getting chilly here too...hopefully, that will take care of the mosquito problem we are having due to so much rain.

Speaking of mosquitos, if you have cuttings in water that you bring inside, check for the hitchhikers. Last year I wondered why, in November, a mosquito bit me inside the house. I soon found the answer. I also check plants for ants.

Yup getting pretty cool here at night also. Friday I moved all the house plants who live outside during the summer in the house.

I always check for hitch hikers such as bugs I don't want indoors. Well when I was inspecting my Snake plant I found a neat surprise. A little tree frog. I slowly picked it off and it nestled in the palm of my hand to get warm. Dah I wish I would have taken a pic of it. I moved it to a sunny location. Checked later and it was gone. So glad I found the frog before I brought it inside.

I also dumped out my extra bird baths and noticed that they had mosquito larva swimming in them. Yuk!

Well it only got down to 38 deg. F. last night, so no frost but with a 15 mph north wind, it feels a lot colder than that!

Don't forget to also check houseplants that were outdoors over the summer for SNAKES. A year or so ago, someone posted on another garden site that they found a large snake between the saucer and the pot in one of their plants. Eeeeeewwww...

I think it was in the 30s here last night. It was barely 40' when I got up around 8 am this morning. I have a bunch of plants to bring indoors too, but it is allegedly going to be warm this week, so we will see.

Our weather is forecasted to be in the 60's this week, with overnight temps in the 50's. Plants can stay out here a bit longer.

Jerry--I am hoping my Christmas cactus will also set bud before I bring it in.
