Overwatering would be my guess. I only water my cactus plants every now and then as they don't tend to need that much water. I really don't know that you can save the base of the plant but the two top pieces could be planted up to see if they'll root for you.

Stop watering every day! your cactus needs a tiny amount of water once a week at most.

does the pot have drainage holes? What soil mix are you using?

When the cactus turns all yellow like this, it is quite dead. You might try rooting the top (colored) part, but I think they don't root very well, because you always see them grafted. To root, set on moist perlite, moderate light, and keep perlite slightly moist. Easiest thing would be to toss it, and try again. Never water any plant every day, especially a cactus. For cactus, water only when soil is completely dry to the bottom of the pot. Stick a moisture meter, or kebob skewer into the soil all the way to the bottom. Meter will read dry, skewer will feel dry, and not have no soil sticking to it.
