Can anyone identify this plant? Flower or weed?

    That would be ragweed.

    I don't know, that might one of the Solidago types (Goldenrod)

    The best photo I could find of Ragweed really doesn't look like that.

    If alergies both you when you are near the plant then it probably is Ragweed, if not it could be Goldenrod.

    I'd say it looks a lot like Solidago canadensis. People use them as garden plants here.

    Goldenrod (Solidago).

    Perennial wildflower that spreads by rhizomes/roots, so if you keep it, give it room to grow.

    For some it is a weed.

    Canadian Goldenrod.
    Definitely NOT ragweed. They bloom at the same time and Goldenrod has a bad (and false!) reputation as being the cause of hayfever.

    Our local florist uses it in a lot of arrangements.
    I think they call it Solidago :-o
