Catching the light.

    Here are two ducks, the Common Goldeneye and then the Barrows Goldeneye, at a quick glance they look very much the same species. 01 golden eye.jpg

    Catch the light right and you can then see a lot of difference.

    I was away over the weekend and saw this Barrows Goldeneye for the first time in all these years.

    I've seen many common Goldeneyes but Never knew there was such a bird as the Barrows Goldeneye. As you say when you catch them in the right light they are very different.

    I have seen so many different ducks since living here... I think some of ours are the common goldeneye. Great picture.. I can get closer to the eagles than I can the ducks..
