Went to my local nursery and purchased four purple coneflowers. They looks so nice when planted in bunches. One of my favorite perennials.
I love 'em too. I've been adding them here and there. But have one bed I'm trying to get established mostly just for them, because like you said, they look so good in groups.
I love coneflowers too! Heres a pic of mine I want more white ones. Theres one white in the back of the group, but its shorter than the rest so I want to move it to the front. Coneflowers ( photo / image / picture from TheBip's Garden )
I stop deadheading them in Sept for the birds but until then I want as many blooms as they will give me. Between the front and back gardens I have 7 different cultivars and the medicinal species Echinacea purpurea.
I love the tall ones. I've been finding some interesting colored ones lately, but they are short. Still pretty though. And the butterflies just love them!
I have tried all the different colors of coneflowers but the only ones that make it through our winters are the purple and the white ones. I have decided to quit wasting my money on the other colors. It's the same here Sherry. I have had some lovely doubles, but none of them live past the first winter. I do have a lovely red one that is doing well, sadly I can't find the tag.
