One last posting from the show, if you can stand it. There were a lot of containers of various sizes around the show. Some were HUGE white planters with trees planted in the center and flowers around the base. These planters were probably 5 feet tall and so when I took photos of them, in most cases the tree was left out so I could get a better view of the flowers. The trees varied, but I saw Maple, Linden, Golden Chain Tree's, Service Berry, Flowering Crab Apple and others. Here is one of those planters, with my 10 year old daughter Ivy beside it to show the size ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) So that concludes my posts from Canada Blooms 2014. If you still want to see more, you can check the Canada Blooms website here http://canadablooms.com/gardens/ or to see the rest of my photos, I will finish adding them to my garden today http://www.gardenstew.com/plantstew/garden-1071
Your daughter looks as though she were enjoying the day as much as you were Netty. Those planters are really beautiful but I'm glad I didn't have to lift them into place.
Some of those container plantings are pretty spectacular. Thanks so much for going to the trouble to take and post these pics. Did you get any ideas for your own patio/harden at the show?
They are beautiful. I can usually visualize where I could put something around here but they are so big I couldn't begin to think of a place for them. Thank you for showing them.
Thanks all. None of my children show an interest in gardening, but Ivy looks forward to Canada Blooms each year. When asked if she would like to join us on a tour to the Peterborough garden show, she said "No thanks, one garden show a year" Thanks Sjoerd, I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. I did get a few ideas for my own garden while I was there. Now all I need is for all this snow to melt!
