Very pretty, I just can't get them to grow for me. I have planted them each of the last 4 years, think it's time for me to give up on them.

It appears to be a Crocosmia 'Emily Mckenzie'

You know, Toni...while Crocosmia grows in all types of soil with various pH lebvels...it is always best to start your Crocosmias in a bed with amended soil. They just seem to do it better, I have noticed.
I personally find it necessary to insure the starting bed is well-draining.

I've tried and tried to get those to grow and haven't had any luck  Makes me mad because I'd love to have a big old bed of them! Aunt Polly sent me some corms last summer, I was hoping they'd do something. But, unfortunately the bed is still empty :-?

I love crocosmia/montbretia and have loads in my garden. I have some really tall ones called Lucifer that I think are gorgeous.
