Cute pale yellow flower. Does anyone know what these are?

    These plants come up every spring...I haven't been able to identify them, could be a weed but they have a cute pale yellow flower.

    Those are Perfoliate Bellwort (Uvularia perfoliata) and very pretty ones at that. They are definitely not a weed.

    You lucky person. I have planted these a few times, but they do not thrive here.

    It's lovely! We managed to get hold of some two years ago, and it bloomed for us last spring. I don't know if it's still with us. *speeding off outside to check*

    Thanks Jon, they come up under my rhododendrum which was planted before we moved here. Thanks to you all for your commens.

    What pretty little flowers Gail. I don't think I've ever seen them before. Guess what I'll be watching out for in garden centres from now on? :-D

    Just did a google search on this native plant and will add to the plant database. "Perfoliate" refers to the way the stems seem to pierce the leaves. I have learned so much since I have joined the stew!
