I hope this not a dumb question, but over the weekend I got some daffodil bulbs ad I was wondering if its ok to plant them for next Spring, cause I don't think they'll bloom again this year. Any suggestions? thx ed moderator's note: added a more descriptive title to topic
Ed, daffodils are traditionally planted in the fall for next spring blooming. Can you keep the bulbs in a dark place, with low humidity, until September? If not, go ahead and plant them, but don't fertilize and don't water. Daffs should be going dormant now and you don't want to confuse them by encouraging summer growth. The bulbs will just lay there until their internal clock tells them it's time to emerge. All the strength for next year is already in the bulb.
