I have just noticed that all my daffodils are already about 4inches high in my pots, they are coming up earlier and earlier each year lately.

I have snowdrops in the garden which are in flower and my crocus's and daffodils bulbs are all poking up through the soil. Isn't it lovely to have things growing again? Daffodils really cheer up pots and gardens with their clean, spring colours. :-D

My daffodils also started really early, also. A couple have flowers already, and the rest are not far behind. We had a weird winter, we really only had a couple weeks of really cold weather, then it heated up for 2 weeks, and now it's cold again...
I thought the last two years they were in bloom in March and April.

Daffodils aready? You lucky so-and-so, we won't see any of those for another month or two, depending on the temps.

Those pretty yellow blooms sure do cheer you up when you're longing for spring.

I have bulbs up everywhere, but the daffs are still a long way off flowering. I don't want to see them until late March when I enter the daff show in the village! The snowdrops are lovely though and my little clumps are really filling out nicely.

Did anyone notice the daffodils that bloom later in the season in a catalogue you received? It is in the Spring Hill 22009 planting guide or go online at www.springhillnursery.com

They are called Summer Cheer Daffodil. They are ivory colored and they say they bloom after the other ones bloom which would be summer. Check them out if you can find them. They look like clusters of flower heads and do not even resemble a daffodil in my eyes..Let me know what you think...Sherry

I have seen white snowdrops near the cellar foundation of a house. Some were fully open. Some were just buds.

Our daffodils have come and gone. Its a shame they are so short lived, and a recent cold snap did not help! image000000.jpg

@Dirtmechanic, Are the petals of your Daffodils a lighter yellow than the yellow of the cups?

Yes but that changes as time goes by. They were fresh and delicate in that photo.
