I've decided to start another post about my Rapunzel tomato plant, because I do believe it has taken on a life of it's own. I'll attempt to measure the height this wknd..i would say about 7 ft tall. It's just beginning to show its flowers and truthfully, this has been so much fun watching this plant!! Just so you all know, it grew a bit more overnight and now that part has blossoms. For now I'll post previous shots of the plant from the 4th of July!! Will post more this evening. I've been simulating bees..can't wait until that spray comes in tomorrow!!!

    It's just remarkable, that.
Do you lock the bedroom door each night before retiring?
That thing could take over everything!

LOL Sjoerd. Reminds me of a very old movie.

Good morn... Sjoerd I sure do!!
Growing pains..its growing in compost, peat, earthworm castings etc. .this is how she is supposed to grow. I knew that she would be crazy before he sent the seeds just by watching how she was at his place in a huge container. This year he planted her in 5 gallon bucket just to see how she will perform for people like me who do not have the space. You should see what she looks like!!!
And speaking of taking over.. I just got finished tying her long locks (with ringlets (blossoms)) to the next pole. Will have a tomato screen very soon. One of the Mr. S tripeys is dying i believe..hes turning brown up the stem..(Too much lime I think)...cant post again..i think it's our server. Will try later on.

Hummer, I posted a photo last year of my tallest tomato plant. Over 5ft 4 inches because that's how tall I am and it was taller. Good tomatoes too. I think yours is taller.

Update: I've attached Rapunzel to the pole from the other tomatoes (that are dying by the way). I took one out this past wknd. I think that I am going to end up removing the tomato plants. I don't believe the spray is helping. Blossoms are still dropping and no fruit is setting from what i can see. It is way too hot here and are starting to look really bad. I think I will start preparing for the fall which is not that much cooler here. Then again, it may surprise us this year. Lesson learned...no fruits or veggies that require pollination on the patio for now. Flowers, onions, garlic, lettuces, herbs, etc.

hummer, take a few cuttings from this plant to start for your Fall crop. much easier than starting from seed as long as there is no disease on it.

Hummer, can you plant the cuttings outside? It looks like it would benefit from more sun. I would introduce the sun slowly though to avoid sun scald. That is some plant!!

Cayuga...at this point...no. The complex doesn't even want plants outside the patio..butttttt...there are many here who have a nice flower set up out in plain view. You should see the area in front of their office...amazing colors and plants..then when you come around the complex...nothing. There is much unused space even for a small community container garden spot on this property in the back where I am, so i'm going to try and weigh them down for just me for now..lolll. Maybe they don't understand how nice it could be.

Now that you have blossoms, I can't wait to see what kinds of fruits you will get. I am intered in colour, size and flavour.
