Two or three a day? Just wait, you'll get up to five or six before it's over!
My husband and I turned 65 within 10 days of each other, and the insurance companies went nuts. We each get two or three offers of "supplemental insurance" almost daily. I have contacted three companies asking to be taken off their mailing list. Until they do, I just stuff everything back in the prepaid envelope included in their mailings, and mail it back to them. My compost pile can handle only so much paper!

Jane, I wish I had thought about returning the junk to the sender. I put everything through the paper shredder and it is now preventing weeds coming up through the cedar mulch on the north bed.

And you will get a few more every year about this time. Late summer through about mid-December is called 'Open Season' and is the time of year when you can change insurance companies without being penalized. So they try to load up your mail box for about three months then.

If you have medical insurance now, either private or through an employer, contact them before signing up for supplemental insurance. Some companies will remain the primary coverage provider with Medicare taking the supplemental roll. If that is the case, then you do not need to sign up for supplemental insurance at all.

I think I will do that-and mail back and have them take off mailing list . I tear off my name and take to recycle center. But one of my customer was past Iowa insurance president. He warned me ones to stay away from. I'm 3 months older then DH so he'll be getting letters soon. And church member and friend work for SSA-that helps a lot. But they cut back on help-to help people fill out paper work right-what is stupid.

I have straight Medicare and since I am retired military, I have Tricare for life as my supplemental ins. I only have parts A and B as I get my perscriptions through Tricare. I pay $9 for a 3 mo. persription on name brands and generic is free. I pay no deductable and no premium and all of these companies can't understand why I don't sign up for Anthem or Humana or one of them!

When I was cleaning at Her house yesterday. She looked over paper work the gal from Ship gave. BIG file. She pointed out ones to stay away from. Some Doctors will accept them-all the paper work on their end. And takes 6 months to get paid from them.It will be cheaper for DH-because of Vet's And Friend who works for SSA said plan F is a good plan????
