I'd love to wear a gardening hat, in theory, but I just whip in and out of the garden on the slightest whim, I'm lucky if I manage to slip into a pair of flip flops, let alone head gear.
I don't like wearing any kind of hat in the summer...they make me overheat! I like your hat though Kat.
http://www.gardenstew.com/blog/index285 ... r2007.html You can see me in my favorite gardening hat in my blog entry. That was a big expenditure for me. We had gone to Austin for vacation a few years ago and went to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center to tour the gardens. It was like an oven outside that day so when the gift shop opened I splurged and bought this hat, never dreamed I would spend $25 for a gardening hat. But it has been worth every penny of that out in the Texas sun. Several years ago I was outside at a school carnival without a hat for longer than I realized and spent the next two weeks with a face swollen so much I couldn't wear my glasses and barely see thru the slits that once were my eyes, the doctor called it Sun Poisoning. So now if the sun is out, this hat is on my head.
