Cleaned out some of the sauces and condiments yesterday from fridge ! Mustard ketckup siracha bbq, and steak sauce so i decided to toss all in a sauce pan,, recook it and see what i come up with along with a few seasonings ! tasted good but i thought it could be better,, so blended some leftover peaches and added that ! it was excellent ! will put it on baked chicken tomorrow night !
Anyone do the same or similar ?

Nope, but good for you! Experimenting is always a good thing... Even when it doesn't turn out. Glad yours did.

Never even crossed my mind to do it. We tend to make a lot of our own sauces.

My son is a huge BBQ sauce lover. We often have many different kinds in the fridge, and when they all get low I have mixed them on a few occasions with great success.
I've never thought to mix other things together!

Altering the taste of commercial salad dressings with a bit of white wine vinegar, and/or olive oil, and some chopped herbs is about as adventurous as I get.
Like Eileen, we tend to make most of our sauces ourselves, except for our very favorite BBQ sauce--Sweet Baby Ray's. I could drink that stuff!

Wow,, the chicken with the mystery sauce was fantastic,, even if I did make it myself ! Also made focaccia and flavored rice to go with it !

I do that with soup sometimes. I just chuck whatever I need to get rid of, be it veggie or meat, into the stock pot. Very often, I am very happy with the results.

Like my mother and grandmother and probably yours too made "clean the refrigerator soup" ! Always had small amounts of fresh vegetables left over ! Just add a few things and dinner was ready !

Spector & mart, I do that too. Usually some version of a veggie soup. Always good.

Since there is only two of us there is always something left over ! Just toss it all in a soup pot ! Make cornbread and dinner is ready !

I love "I'm just a country cook," which means you use fresh ingredients in season, know how to properly cook the ingredients, and can whip up a meal for 10 people without breaking a sweat. Country cooks have fed families, contributed to pot luck suppers, and generally made some of the best food on earth. :smt109:smt109
