I have apparently grown from seed(2011seed) my first variegated daylily leaf. Perhaps one of my daylilies has a variegated plant as a grandparent. I don't expect a flower till 2016 but seeing a variegated leaf was unexpected. I've just checked all 60 odd of mine Jerry and not a single one is variegated. I do have some variegated iris leaves though that I spotted in the pond.
Jerry I did have one young daylily that displayed variegated leaves. As time wore on, the variegation disappeared. I hope yours keeps it!
I have several variety of variegated leaf day lilies from white leaf green leaf stripped white & green all white leaf what ever one would enjoy. I have been growing these for years from one plant given to me from a lady who helped hybridize them from the University.
