Ducks gather ....

    Lake Winneconne looks like it is frozen over...we can't see any open areas which is why the ducks have left and I haven't seen any eagles in the trees waiting for fish... December 5, 2017 072 (2).jpg

    These were taken Dec. 5 and now we are hit with some frigid weather....I often wonder why we have so many males in the groups here. The females must be the ones getting shot in duck season. They like to come to our little area for protection, no one can hunt that close to our house.

    Not a duck around with the water frozen...yesterday we had a man walking on it with a hand auger and he made holes and was measuring how deep the water was in quite a few areas. Thank you Eileen and Islandlife. I miss seeing them but they will return in the spring...

    Nice images Sherry,..i wonder where your ducks go when the ice forms,..i know we get ducks here from Russia.
