We have so many cardinals this time of year! They are not migratory, but "staygratory" and they clean out the bird feeders daily, with a little help from the redwings, white crowns, and chickadees. When everything is grayish the birds do add color and interest to the day!

Marlin— quite possibly my favourite North American bird. It’s the colours and the looks. Foto’s are fine but to see this lovely creature IRL is simply stunning. Cor !

    Cheers for this foto.

For us in the northeast Cardinals are a sign that spring is around the corner. I've only seen females a handful of times. They tend to be more elusive than their male counterparts up here.

Beautiful photograph. Outstanding details. We don’t get cardinals here in the west coast due to the vegetation available which is not preferred by those picky eaters who generally prefer vegetation in eastern states.
I hope the cardinals sighting is right that spring is coming soon.

Thank you all for your kind comments. I passed them on to my husband, the photographer in the family.

Credit where credit is due, right? :)
I could look at pics of cardinals all day long. They are so different to our birds over here.
