After all the small blooms I've had lately, I'm glad to now have some that can be seen from a distance!

I can see how the Ballerina got it's name - what a beautiful flower. Your Texas Star Hibiscus would certainly make me stop and stare if I saw it as it's lovely and such a striking red.

I keep forgetting to get an angel trumpet started, think I will work on that this fall.

Thanks everyone! They are old standby's... and it wouldn't be my garden without them.

Eileen... I gave my silly old aunt one of the Angel Trumpets. She could never remember the name and kept calling it "that dancer plant". :D

Theodoros... I have a White Dinner Plate Hibiscus. It has not bloomed yet this year. But here is a photo from last year. And they really are about the size of a plate.

I can't wait until Autumn to see your yellow Ballerina!

Toni... I kept my TX Star in a good sized container for a couple of years. It bloomed for me... but nothing like it does now since it has it's feet firmly planted in the ground.

Blimey Cheryl! Those are very looking good. Two totally different plants and blooms, but both quite exceptional.

    Well done, you.

    NICE BIG blooms!
I think I have that hibiscus. From seeds. Waiting for the seedlings to grow. In a pot, cause last year I moved them to the garden and they stayed 5 cm tall and died over winter.
