I really tried to contain my enthusiasm when I passed through the front door of each of the 4 wonder filled antique/junque shops yesterday. And actually even though it might not look like I did, I really did cause I left a few pieces behind .... sort of hoping they will still be there this summer when we make this particular trip again. Mail box to mount out front for holding gardening tools and other necessities. Wood tray to use in the kitchen...I love wood trays like this one, it makes 3 that I have now. The tall enamel pot (literally was a pot in former life ) will be used at one of the rain barrels out back. The enamel bowl....I don't know yet. The gas hose nozzle will go on the end of a hose on the spigot of another rain barrel. ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) The 4 green jars and wood basket will become a ceiling light fixture for the kitchen. The small bottles will become bottle tree seedlings. ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) Don't know where yet but it will hang around outside. To hang somewhere ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) This is the front of a short sleeve t-shirt.. Another junquing theme t-shirt ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) 13"wide x 19"tall, one is showing the back, the other shows the front. Two small doors ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) This is so cool and only $19 Birdhouse attached to the upright part of the old two wheel dolly. Old two wheel dolly and birdhouse ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden )
WOW you did well Toni. I really like your idea for the mail box and could do with on here. I also love the wheel dolly but would separate the birdhouse from it as Ian broke our wheel dolly last year and we need to replace it. The T. shirt - well what can I say? - it was obviously just waiting for you to buy it. I could find quite a few uses for that wooden tray - both inside and out. I so enjoy seeing what you manage to collect on your junquing trips. :-D
I have mail boxes all over my 2.5 acres with garden tools, twine, clippers and some sprays for plants and my bags of dried blood and lots of good junk.... LOL Maybe 8 of them, some have vines growing up and over them some have paintings on them. They are sure useful to me. You sure are a good collector.
I'd have grabbed those wooden boxes in a heart-beat too. And love the pot and enamel bowl. What a neat idea of the birdhouse on the dolly. You could set a potted plant on the dolly part, maybe even a vine. And if it needs moved... voila! Just hope the birds don't mind travelling. Great stuff!
Oh, I hadn't thought about a potted plant on the platform and I like the idea of a vine climbing up the dolly. Good one, thanks.
I really like the birdhouse-on-wheels Toni. I wonder if that is the bird equivalent of an RV? Great finds as usual! And that t-shirt is most definitely you.
Great finds, as always Toni. I'd like to see what you do with that mailbox. I have one in my gardenshed that I am looking for an interesting idea for. It will probably end up in my veggie garden as it is well away from everything else. That shirt is PERFECT for you! Oh and I love those green jars, especially the largest one ... it would be perfect for my kitchen if you don't want it
Great stuff!! I can see a Wren taking up residence in the portable bird house. Bottle trees?? Brachychiton rupestris?? All the way from their native land, Australia? Wow! Jerry
Jerry this tree is roughly translated Arbor 'Caerulean Ipsum' I don't have a mature one but I have been finding some saplings the birds must have planted for me over the last few months. Soon as the snow melts and it's warm enough to spend time outside I'll get photos of the saplings I have so far. I don't expect mine will ever get to be this size.... I just have saplings so far ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden ) But with the proper care and feeding maybe at least one of my saplings will have a chance.
Well done, toni. I liked all your items but I sort of lost my thread when I read "soon as the snow melts"...
