This thread is about the flowers that are coming along in the allotment. The Dagkoekoeksbloem ( Silene dioica ) is popping up in many gardens here now. The lone tulip is coming ip again this year. Everyone’s Syring is in bloom at the moment across the complex. In spite of the cold, it still gives some fragrance. We took some home and it is doing ok, but not great. The Dwarf Rhodi is very old, but still showing us some style. The Aquilegia’s are beginning as well. Then the Wisteria. It has been a long time coming, but now the Big W is beginning to display. I wonder what will happen to all those hundreds of buds in this quite strong wind. Here you can look from beneath the pergola under which we sit in the garden whilst taking tea. The road to “Showtime!” Has been a long one. 10 april: 24 april: 20 mei: As you can see, it was the same group of flowers on the same twig all three shots. It is a classic “ worth the wait” journey.
Thanks Cayu. It is nice to bring home the odd flower now and then, but one must be frugal with one’s garden delights dontcha know. I found the Bride’s arrangement smashing as well, though.
