We have been having between four and five crates per week, yesterday we had nine! Take a look:

The red crates on the tables behind are some of the crates for clients in different towns in our area.

This next shot shows our crates going into the cooling unit until Friday morning.

The Food Bank folks were very happy with all the fresh veg, as were we.

    What we had:
Different bean sorts, paprikas, leeks, corn cobs, grapes, blackberries, plums,
    Tatties,
    Spitskool,
    Red cabbage,
    Tomato’s,
    Beetroot,
    Courgettes,
    Apples,
    Endive

I was very pleased with the variety.

Spitskool = pointy variety of cabbage.

Ya know, I had no luck with that kind. We call it Chinese cabbage and it never made a head at all just about 8 or 10 very loose leaves. It looked more like a tall lettuce than a cabbage. @Sjoerd do you do anything differently with the Spitskool than you do with regular cabbage ?

Annie— I like it with bacon bits especially, but generally you just cook it as if it were regular cabbage. If you look on the internet, there are many different uses, however. We do not eat it often to be honest.

Annie— excuse me. No, we grow it the same as the roundheads.
