Our average last frost date for my zone is April 18th, so yesterday, I put out some of my houseplants for the summer. Tonight, we have a freeze warning. Ouch. I just had to drag back in 2 huge Boston ferns, a huge asparagus fern, and my monstera plant. Thankfully, I had not hauled any others outdoors yet. I did plant a bunch of seeds though, so I really hope it does not freeze like they think it will.
Those night frosts can be so irritating can't they? We are still getting a few here in Scotland so most of my tender plants are in the greehouse until the end of May.
Hi Eileen, a greenhouse would be great. I hope to build one eventually, but right now I have some other projects to get done first. It is 35' this morning, so I am glad I brought them in.
Eileen, Can I ask about the titles under people's names, and the various moderator things here on GS ? There are a lot of interesting ones.
With the last frost date 19 days away and living on a hill a few hundred seeds are now on their way to being plants. I'm on the local garden center's warning list for frost alerts. Jerry
