    Hi,

Hoping someone can help. I am looking at purchasing an expensive dresser. The top of the dresser is made of stone. I want to make sure I'm not spending my money on something that is a passing fad and will look dated 10 years from now. I also have the option of purchasing without the stone top. Any advice?

My advice is to not follow fads or to worry about them. If you like the dresser then buy it, but don't buy it just because someone says it is the "in" thing in decorating right now.

And if you really, really like it then it isn't going to matter to you if someone deems it out of fashion in a few years.

Hello there Haw and welcome to the GardenStew forums. I agree 100% with Toni - if youlike it then buy it and to heck with trends, fashions and other people. :-D

Great advice Toni. Do what your heart says Haw77. If money is an issue do what your wallet says :)

Welcome to the GardenStew forums by the way!

One more vote for Toni's advice - I buy things because I really like to look at them, or like the feel of them myself - if it is worth the extra money for the stone because you personally like the stone, go for it. You are the one who will be living with it and looking at it everyday.

Toni is so correct. I keep think about a painting I saw. The next day I was there when the door opened.

I'm going with everyone elses answer. If you like the stone its your dresser and you will always be kicking yourself if you don't get it. So if you like it forget fads go do what you like .

Good, let us see a picture of it when you get it in your room. I bet it is really pretty.
