Spuds, let’s begin with the spuds. I have earthed the spuds twice now and on the rounds my Bride saw some potato leaf stems lying flat on the hill. I scratched around and within seconds I had him! Look closer, do you recognise it? It is the infamous cut worm. Whilst taking tea, we saw this little character checking out the soil in the little plant bed. I think it may be a type of hover fly, but I am not sure. Love is in the air….. here is foto of two ladybirds, interesting because of their contasting markings. Checking over in the “leafy veg bed”, I see that the Swiss chard can be harvested any day. The other side of the patch shows how tall the beetroot sprouts are growing. Around tea time; after harvesting a load of strawbs, … we decided to treat ourselves Yep, in the garden, those little guys never made it to the harbour. It had been a busy day, so we kept telling ourselves that we had earned this.
