This is one of my more ecletic pieces. It is a mannequin torso I bought off E-bay.

I made it different on each side because it will be displayed on a post that you pass coming and going.

The only holdup is where I want to put it a big tree root has to be removed. My husband did his usual great job with the grouting.

Gosh Bethie that must have taken forever to make!!! I really like the dragonfly on the back of the torso as well as the hummingbirds on the front. I can't say it enough - you are one talented lady!!! :D Oh and hubby did a lovely job with the grouting. :-D

Naturally I noticed those butterflies right away -- very unusual piece. Looks like a lot of work involved. You did a wonderful job.

That's amazing Bethie. If a whole mannequin were done like that it would make one cool looking superhero, Mosaic Man :) How long did it take to make?

// BTW I moved this to the Garden Junk forum ;)

Haha! I would have never thought of using a torso this way - I bet it gets lots of comments from passerby who see it. Looks like a lot of hours were put into making him look good.

That gives a new meaning to the term "Body Art". I really like it.

Wow, what a great piece. I love it. I have to try my hand at mosaics. I think I will start simple, maybe just a square of wood.

    torso

Now I could kick myself for not buying the mannequin torso at the thrift shop yesterday! I did however, buy an arm. Thought that would look good as a mosaic in the garden. Can't wait to get started now. If the torso is still there maybe it will have to come home with me.
