Each year, our local Horticulture society has a garden tour of select home gardens in my town. This is the first year I have gone, and I saw some spectacular gardens! There were 6 stops and one of the featured gardens was in the current issue of Canadian Gardening magazine. My photos really don't do these gardens justice - the sun was shining brightly and I prefer to take garden shots when it is cloudy as the sun washes away the color. Here are a few of my favorite photos taken today ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden ) ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden )
Beautiful. Isn't it fun to explore other people's gardens? Can't wait for our neighborhood garden walk coming up.
What great weather you had for your photo taking Netty. That pond is really beautiful. Could sit beside it all day
I've never been on one of these tours until today. I got to stroll thru 6 wonderful gardens. I loved one garden so much I didn't want to leave!!
I too like that pond. Everything else also looks gorgeous. I haven't been on one of those kind of tours either. The town next to my office does one, and I've seen the photos... they do not even come close to the one's you have.
I agree. Lovely gardens. Makes me realize how much cleaning I have to do by Spring. We have 11 gardens on our tour every year. They are very spread out. The one I am going to be in is a driving tour. The one I saw a few weeks was a walking tour in town. That was very nice.
Netty, these gardens are very pretty. I also like the garden with the pond. Did they happen to have a fountain in this one or maybe some fish?
Waretop, you are a brave one to be in a garden tour! I think the stress of having to have a perfect garden would do me in! There were only 6 gardens in this tour and only 3.5 hours to see them all. They were spread out all over town so it was a close one. How long do people have to get to all 11 gardens? Is it and all day tour? Petunia - they did have fish. They also had a trickling stream between the ponds and a small water fall at the top. They also had another water feature - here's a picture of that one ( photo / image / picture from Netty's Garden )
Lovely water feature. Sometimes I wish I could have one, but there's just too many creatures that would be attracted to it. Yes, Petunia... you must show us that creek!
Beautiful place and great photos...I have always wanted a pond but I know I would be drying our dogs off daily if I did have one now.
Netty, If you come look at my gardens you will spend 2 and half hours walking through mine. I had a special open garden tour a few weeks ago and that's how long everyone took. I will also have another one on this next Tuesday. I will pay attention to how long they take to go around my property. I have had one woman come on both days for the last one and I have invited her to the next one which she will be there also. She loves to walk through all the gardens and take pictures.
What a nice tour of some very lovely gardens. As a part of my job, I get to see a lot of gardens, and we work in them to keep them looking their best. I love to stroll through with homeowners and discuss all their plants. Sometimes, I educate folks about how to care for their landscape or tell the names of their plants, and other times I get to learn and see plants I am not familiar with. It is so much fun to meet all kinds of people while I am working, that share the love of growing plants.
