I am looking for just a little bit of moss to use in a project :-o Weird request~ right?

I've been looking on Pinterist and found some of the neatest flower pots. They say to take fresh moss and blend it in the blender with yogurt or buttermilk and paint it on a terra cotta pot. This will transplant moss on the pot and encourage it to grow. I really want to try this!!!

If someone has a little fresh moss that they would like to share I will gladly pay postage or swap.

    Thanks
    Deanna :-D

It would be best if you go out and get some that is wild and very close to your house. You should also place it in the same shade and moisture environment that you find it in. I have done this before. It's very cool and will regrow year after year. I still have a couple of patches out by my little pond and it comes back every year....

Deanna, I was thinking the same as Barb. Just go outside..to the park or in the woods and snag a little from close to home. it will grow better for your project.

I would if I could :D We are sooooooo Arid with almost no humidity and believe it or not, not a lot of rain. We are Southern Oregon High Desert. The Willamette Valley north of us is much milder and gets the beautiful rain. If I knew someone up there I'd have them harvest moss for me :p I am going to try to start my own mossy environment (how many people set out to grow moss?) Jerry and Donna offered moss so I am going to take them up on it :p
    Thanks everybody!!!!!

Deanna, I hate put a damper your idea, but if it is so arid there that moss won't grow naturally, you may not get it to grow on your pot, either. Give it try though, just so you know ahead of time, it may not be anything you are doing wrong if it doesn't grow. good luck

Ok I'm have a question, and don't laugh ok. But I read your post and thought you said you were going to blend it with yogurt, so I'm confused, what do you mean blend it? Like I pictured (don't laugh) you putting moss and yogurt in blender for like a smoothie. So what's this project, I live where its humid and like new projects. Sorry curious....

Oh and when I got to the painting part I was really lost. Hahahaha.

Yep! That's exactly it!! I started 3 pots before we went on vacation. I'll check them tonight and try to get a picture, if there is anything to photograph that is!
