The new potatoes are ready sooner than I thought. Was pulling weeds and they are pushing through the top of the ground so figured I had better remove a few. Have some blue lake bush beans and will have green beans and new potatoes for dinner tonight with cornbread and fresh onions. Doesn`t get much better that that,,,well it would if the tomatoes were ready too but can`t have everything I guess. Might stir fry cabbage I picked yesterday too.

Mart, some of your gardening smarts must be rubbing off on me--I scrabbled around in the dirt this morning and came up with some new red Lasoda potatoes for tonight's dinner. No green beans yet, we'll have to settle for peas.
How are your squash doing? I'm going to check your posts before I go to the garden every morning to see what I need to look for! :-D

They look great, so how do you grow them? I would have to do it in the winter here.

I have already had to remove a few squash and zuchinni. I think this is going to be a bumper crop year MG. Everything is huge. I don`t have fresh green beans yet, had 2 pkgs left from last year in the freezer.
I grow them buy planting the sections of seed potatoes and leave them alone. All I do is keep most of the weeds out and keep bugs off. Thats it!
Cherylad, just bring yourself. Any evening about 6pm. We will have whatever I pick that day. LOL
The potatoes and beans were really good this evening.
Maybe I should just invite everyone.
    Thanks all!

Just looked to see where you are. I assume you mean winter because of water in the summertime? Best thing you could do would be to grow them in a compost pile early spring or fall I would think.
