When in Denmark we visited Jesperhus Flowerpark, the one with all the hens'n'chicks-creations for those of you who saw the post. There's a small corner dedicated to Mr. Andersen and his fairy tales. You may know some of them, like "The Little Mermaid", "The little match girl" and "Thumbelina". This is what Jesperhus Flowerpark's tribute to him looks like: H. C. Andersen's house ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) The tinderbox ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) The princess on the pea ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Pig-hans and the princess ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) The brave tin soldier ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) Thumbelina ( photo / image / picture from Droopy's Garden ) I especially liked that princess's bed.
What a great park! I know all these stories from my childhood. They are done so well here, Droopy. Thanks so much for showing these...it sure brings back good memories from my childhood. You know, I feel like I travelled right along with you.
I sooo enjoyed looking at your photographs Droopy. They brought back many happy memories of reading these wonderful stories to my children. The Little Matchgirl always made them cry but they never tired of hearing it. Many thanks. :-D
Droopy- What a charming display! It's so great to see these stories come to life! I like the Princess on the Pea best!
Thanks all. I would have liked to try and make that mattress-effect with sempervivums, but I don't think I've got room for it.
That is awesome . Love the park an yes hans is our favorite childhood memories also. Thanks for reliving them for us. We love seeing stuff like that. Incourages my mind to do better. Happy wishes. b
What great pictures and a great place. I adore Hans Christian Andersen stories, Thumbalina being my fave, and I still sing the song to my kids. Good ole Danny Kaye. I think the Princess bed is my fave also.
Thanks Barb. Let your imagination run wild! I'd love to see the result. EJ, it's just across the channel you know. Maybe next year.
Wonderful and whimsical, its always fun to be reminded of our childhood memories brought to life. Thanks for the memories.
