…..then there was this: Pink Fir tatties. They are an oldish sort and have been combined genetically to creat new types of potatos over the years. We harvested a stool of them early-on because we were consumed with curiosity and greed. That first harvest was meagre and the spuds were not fully developed. They were delicious, to be sure (nothing like a new potato); however, they were immature. A pity actually, but our curiosity and hunger were quenched. Now then, it has been closer to the rule-of-thumb ninety days et voilà ! It is a remarkable stoel— 51 eating sized spuds. We have never had one this numerous. We usually get 20-30 per plant…but this surpasses all historical results. We just kept digging them up from the deeply filled-in trench. Then over to the small leek bed. The Bride’s interest in leeks is fading. Anyway, we have some this year. It was time to earth them up again. The three Sisters is actually Four sisters are coming along well, albeit with dwarf corn plants. I ought to have sussed the type out properly before going with them. Since its beginning it has looked messy and chaotic. We threw-up a sort of ad hoc structure for limited support and to give the beans the possibility to climb. The whole patch looks unprofessional and …… well, messy. Having said that, we harvest something from this quadrant daily…and the paprikas are coming along as well now. That’s me— happy as Larry.
Three sisters is supposed to be a bit chaotic since you have nothing in rows and all just find there way around in the soil. Kind of like a "Garden Rave ", if you will !!
