I don't usually make cookies, I am more comfortable with a roast or grilling. The Mrs. however, has a house party event where they sell cooking stuff. So cookies were the order of the day. She had a years old recipe from a friend who's family ran a bakery. Not knowing how they were made the first 2 batches out of 8 ended up being an experiment. I kept the dough in the refrigerator but handling the stuff was fun. By batch 4 we were on a roll.......I really said that? The cookies taste good and at a gazillion calories each, we may not have to eat for a week.

Loving the apron Jerry. Dooley sure knows how to make 'em. Did you get a photo of the cookies up close?

I suppose I could put a few on a plate, then I will have to eat them. :)

I can't do this too many times, the party cookies will disappear. :)

I used to make those around Christmas time and put crushed peppermint in them. Now, with just the two of us I generally don't make too many cookies.

I wonder if dooley made me an apron?

Those look Yummy. I do not believe I have ever eaten those before. I also love those comfy cooking shoes in the pic. That's my kind of cooking outfit. ;)

I know where you can order one. PM for further info :D. I have done this myself and had it mailed, so I am sure I can arrange this again.

Have I made butterhorn cookies? Yes, once. I love to cook, but the anxiety over whether the horns would break, get too brown, not be cooked in the center was just too much for me.
Now that I have a Dooley apron, I may gather my courage and give them a try again.
Jerry, I admire your fortitude, your apron, and your cookies!

    Hmmm....O.K. I will compose a post with:

    1. The original recipe.

    2. The modified recipe.

    3. The blow by blow description of my first time baking butter horn cookies.

    4. Comments.

But first the water department has to change the water meter. They do this about once every 15 years. Then Joyce wants to go shopping. Always a good excuse to eat out. :)
