Got an email this morning from one of my gardening friends down the road asking me if my sweet potato vines were blooming because her vines are starting to show some blooms.

I know that sweet potato vines are in the morning glory family. She says her flowers look like morning glories. I'm going down and look tomorrow. I've never seen it or heard of it.

She plants whole sweet potatoes in her garden. We have a long growing season so she doesn't fool with rooting slips. I do both.

Hi Pricklypear, yes that is correct, they are the morning glory family and the flowers on sweet potato vine are usually pale mauve to pink.
