Hello cottage Welcome to Gardenstew from southern Ontario, where I am (not so)patiently waiting for spring!
Hiya Cottage, Welcome! You've found a great group, hope to get to know you and share lots of good gab.
Another welcome from another Louisianian. Spring has arrived here and we are planting. When will you be able to put a plant in the ground in the great state of Iowa?
Most of my gardens are filled with perennials, and some of them have already started growing.... But you have to get down and really look to find the teeny tiny sprouts. LOL. I plant annuals and the veggie garden the first weekend of May. by then you're fairly safe, but I have to be prepared to cover everything in case of a late frost. I'm not doing much in the garden at this point because we still have alot of snow on the ground. Its been in the 50's so its melting, but then I'll need to wait for the ground to dry out before I can get in the dirt! I'll start dividing perennials as soon as its dry enough. And I can get out and turn the compost, clean up the beds and all the "chores" end of the garden as soon as the snow is gone.... which I'm hoping will be this week. Are you on the coast? I spent alot of time in the south when I was a kid. Mostly in GA and AL.... I have nieces and nephews in that part of the country.
